Thanks once more to the Mill Valley Film Festival, 2007. Not only are they conducting the World Premiere of PRESQUE ISLE, co-produced by the San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking and Citizen Cinema, they are hosting the World Premieres of the last two 9@night Films, GO TOGETHER, featuring producer/lead actor Denny Dey and Michelle Allen and USED, featuring Robert and Paige Viharo, Edwin Johnson and John Tidwell, in the 2007 Festival, Oct. 4- 14.

From 1992 thru 1995 I guided the Tenderloin yGroup and the Tenderloin Action Group through weekly player’s workshops designed to give exercises in human feeling and dramatic invention to homeless and ex- homeless, street people, inner city residents, professional actors and all comers. During that time we created 10 dramatic feature films which showcased members of the workshop. CHALK was first and then came the 9 film 9@night Film Cycle. The Mill Valley fest has featured all of these films and this year, their 30th Anniversary, they are also concluding another cycle.

Back in 1979, Mill Valley hosted the North American Premiere of NORTHERN LIGHTS, the feature I co-directed with John Hanson which won the Camera d’Or at Cannes that year. This year they are hosting the World Premiere of PRESQUE ISLE, co-produced by the San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking and Citizen Cinema, a film I wrote and directed about Danny Holmen, who is the Great Grandson of Ray Sorenson, the lead character in NORTHERN LIGHTS.
