NYC, Berkeley and Mill Valley

RECENT ACTION: Rob Nilsson received a Lifetime Achievement Award at a Retrospective of his films at the Love is Folly Film Festival in Varna, Bulgaria (Oct. 30- Sept. 5) and was Chairman of the Jury. COLLAPSE, his newest film, featuring members of the Citizen Cinema Player’s Ensemble and Principal Dancers from the San Francisco Ballet had its World Premiere in Varna.

NORTHERN LIGHTS—Camera d’Or, Cannes Film Festival (1979)—will be re-released by Cinema Conservancy in several cities in 2013/14.  It will play the Film Forum in New York City (Sept. 20/24) and the Pacific Film Archives in Berkeley, (Nov. 7). Nilsson will attend both events. More to come.

COLLAPSE will have its North American Premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival on Oct. 4, 9:00 PM at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Ctr. in San Rafael. It will also play at the same theater on Oct. 11 (Time TBA). Please get tickets early as screenings will sell out. Mill Valley is Nilsson’s favorite film festival. Please attend and support the festival which has featured almost all of his films since Northern Lights (1979).
